8 Bible Verses To Prepare You For An Adventure
1.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Straight paths seem like an advantage during adventures, right?
2.
“With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” I know he doesn’t mean real water, but after all this hiking and being outside I’m gonna need a whole well of water.
3.
“Let the Heavens rejoice, let the Earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.” If nature is always having a party like that, I’m gonna be out there all the time!
4.
“And the priest said to them, ‘Go in peace. The journey on which you go on is under the eye of the Lord.” Any journey under God’s watchful eye sounds safe. I’m all for not getting hurt.
5.
“And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” Seasonal depression = suffering. Summer adventures & Jesus = restoration and strength. Sounds accurate to me.
6.
“In His hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to Him. The sea is His, for He made it, and His hands formed the dry land.” Anything made by God is good, but a nice hike up to the mountain peaks sounds even better right about now.
7.
“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” I’m gonna need a picture of the mountains bursting into song and the fields clapping their hands. That sounds like a good story to tell to your grandchildren.
8.
“But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or spread to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you.” Not only are adventures fun, you can also apparently learn a lot! Now don’t mind me I’ve gotta go learn how to talk to fish...
There ya have it!
I hope you‘re inspired and excited for summer adventures. Now bottle up that excitement and store it for a couple more months until summer comes for those in the Northern Hemisphere...
